The Underground Construction Technology Association (UCTA), formerly known as the Gulf Coast Trenchless Association, invites you to join a group of expert speakers from across North America who will share their knowledge and insight into the critically important water infrastructure market.
Building on the success of the acclaimed WaterWorks conference held the past three years during the popular Underground Construction Technology International Conference (UCT), UCTA and UCT is sponsoring a regional event in Houston, TX, Oct. 26-27, 2009.
The decisions being made today regarding the management of water and energy resources will profoundly affect our economic and environmental future. Climate change and other stresses are limiting the availability of clean water and cheap energy.
“Water is the common ingredient of life, but our soils and topography are anything but common,” says Terry Meador, UCTA vice president, and vice president of operations at BorTunCo. “Therefore, it is essential that we gather together in order to capitalize on the wealth of knowledge gained through the hands-on experience of the designers, producers and distributors of the most valuable asset available – water.”
You, too, can play an important role in solving critical issues pertaining to water infrastructure. Join forces with your peers from contractors to engineers to public works and municipality owners at the regional WaterWorks 2009 Conference.
Houston venue
Known as one of America’s top business cities, Houston is a thriving business metropolis. The conference venue will be the Hilton University of Houston Hotel and Conference Center, Houston. Located on the University of Houston campus, the hotel is only three miles from downtown Houston and 10 minutes from William P. Hobby Airport. Because of the size of Houston, both major airports remain only a short trip for people residing in the nearby Ft. Worth/ Dallas areas, and San Antonio and Austin; and provide easy flight connections to/from the central and southwest U.S.
Education program
For busy professionals, this one-day conference will highlight the aging water infrastructure and emphasize the construction and rehabilitation of water transmission and distribution systems.

This seminar will present solutions to real problems,” explains Patrick Mann, UCTA president and chief operating officer of Magnum Tunneling LLC. “Attendees will have an opportunity to freely glean from the knowledge and experience of others – knowledge and experience which were gained at a price.”
Timely topics will address the issues and opportunities that attendees care about most including:
- Potable Water and Distribution;
- Condition Assessment;
- Corrosion Prevention;
- Rehabilitation Systems and Methods;
