The GCTA is a nonprofit organization now entering its fourteenth year
of operation. It has grown from the original 12 members to nearly
100 corporate sponsors. Its members maintain total operations through
time contributions.
GCTA's purpose is to advance the science and practice of installing,
repairing, maintaining and replacing utility lines and related facilities
through construction and rehabilitation techniques that do not require
digging a trench ( trenchless technology ). This includes municipal
water, sewer and waste water, gas distribution, oil gas transmission
and gathering, telephone, electric and cable systems. The GCTA also
serves to promote education, training, research, development and
information concerning trenchless technology and to promote the
use of that technology.
The focus of the organization is on the Gulf Coast Region where
companies face similar problems in the construction and maintenance
of their underground piping systems. This includes the Texas
Gulf Coast, through the Florida panhandle to the western tip
of Florida.
Utility Company, Engineering, Contractor, Manufacturer, Sales
Distribution, Academia and Research and the Trade Press represent
the governing
Board of Directors.
GCTA holds bimonthly general luncheon meetings
in the months of February, April, June, August, October and December
on the second Wednesday of the month. At each meeting, a keynote
speaker addresses issues pertinent to the growing trenchless industry.
GCTA is looking for candidates who have the knowledge, skill
and energy to lead our association. What a great opportunity
for you to offer your expertise and ideas to the association.
Begin your involvement as a GCTA leader now by letting
us hear from you today.
